Prison HVAC
In a townhouse project, the municipality questioned the adequacy of the dividing construction between an indoor garage and the living room upstairs. We field-tested the construction and demonstrated its adequacy. We helped address several complaints about footfall noise in multi-storey residential buildings. We helped design isolation rooms in mental health institutions, meeting rooms, schools and offices.
Educational Facility Partition Walls
To help answer concerns about the adequacy of a dividing wall in a remodelled educational facility, we measured the ASTC rating of the installed wall and assessed its adequacy.

Upon completion of the expansion of two prisons, the noise from HVAC systems for both cells and offices for support staff needed to be assessed. We measured HVAC sound levels before occupation, recommended criteria based upon planned use and occupation and advised on corrective mitigation where recommended criteria were exceeded.

New Construction Noise Performance
dBA Noise Consultants has supported and supports several home builders in investigating the quality of partitions in newly constructed townhomes. We field-test constructions and demonstrate its compliance. If compliance is not achieved we advised on how to improve the construction to adhere to the building code and/or to prevent future noise complaints.
Residential Noise Complaints
dBA Noise Consultants helped to respond to complaints about various types of noise in multi-storey residential buildings. Footfall noise, fan noise, pump noise, road noise or low frequency noise all caused complaints from occupants. We measure and assess noise levels, and if practicably achievable provide advice for noise mitigation to help resolve the complaint.
